What a Golden Sample Really Means in Frame Production
2 May 2026 · 5 min read

A golden sample is the physical reference that production is measured against. Every inspection stage compares output to that single approved frame.
It should be signed, dated and retained by both parties, with photographs and measurements recorded. Where colour is critical, a matched chip should accompany the sample.
Changes after approval — a hinge substitution, a different plating bath, a new acetate batch — require a revised sample. Treating the golden sample as a living document is where consistency quietly breaks down.
